The Sculpture Terrace

Enjoy the warmth of the sun at Sven-Harrys Konstmuseum.
At the top of the golden building, high among the treetops, you’ll find a spectacular rooftop terrace with a 360-degree view over Vasaparken in Stockholm.

Among the rooftops of Vasastan are sculptures by some of Sweden’s most beloved artists, including Olle Baertling, Marja Leena Sillanpää, Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd, and Lena Cronqvist. Here, art and nature meet – a unique experience for both young and old. At Sven-Harrys Konstmuseum, we welcome everyone who wants to experience art up close.

Meet some of the Nordic region’s leading artists on our sculpture terrace. Here you’ll find works by, among others, Eric Grate – inspired by the radiance and various forms of nature. At the same time, he embraces a surrealist abstract approach through the use of “ready-mades” in his work, often referring to mass-produced objects. In his sculptures, these sometimes contradictory starting points are brought together.

Dan Wolgers’ sculpture Well (Fountain) is also referring to “ready-mades”, more specific to works by Marcel Duchamp. Wolgers often works with paradoxes – clever and filled with humor. Marja Leena Sillanpää draws inspiration from Sven-Harry’s art collection, referencing artists such as Helene Schjerfbeck and Ernst Josephson. The artist duo Ulla and Gustav Kraitz share a long history in ceramics and sculpture. They have previously exhibited at the museum and are represented both on the terrace and in Vasaparken.

Blixtvisit at the rooftop terrace this summer
Ten graduating students from Konstfack’s Ceramics & Glass program are stepping beyond the walls of their school to showcase works in the museum’s sculpture garden. Their works — crafted in glass, metal, and clay — explore themes of longing, pride, and the quiet beauty found in the subtle and fragile. Expect bold bursts of color alongside minimalist forms, where playful details meet clean lines.
