Cinema: Det sköna är svårt

8 August 2024

18.00-19.00 p.m.

The film Det sköna är svårt is shown in our cinema, a film about the artist Carl Fredrik Hill.

The artist Carl Fredrik Hill is one of our most celebrated artists who came to Paris as early as 1873. Unfortunately, he stretched his bow too tight in the fierce competition for the looming gold medal in painting at the World Exhibition and suffered from mental illness. Carl Fredrik Hill was taken care of by sister Hedda in Lund where he developed a very personal drawing of dreams and events in life.

Script and direction by Anders Wahlgren. Cast: Mats Bergman, Lena T Hansson, Margreth Weivers and Dan Ekborg.

In the exhibition Carl Fredrik Hill & Fanny Churberg – towards a new landscape, we highlight the topicality of the landscape. This is where the great destiny question of our time unfolds. More than ever before, we have reason to reflect on our surrounding environment, nature as a healing force and a landscape under threat.

The program point is included in the admission price.
