Fashion’s most iconic designer collaborations featured together at Sven-Harrys Konstmuseum in Stockholm.
On Thursday, October 15, Sven-Harrys Konstmuseum opens Iconic Collaborations, a major exhibition bringing together, for the first time, collections by some of the world’s most influential designers created for Swedish H&M. The names run from Karl Lagerfeld and Stella McCartney to Maison Martin Margiela, Kenzo, and Sonia Rykiel – some of the most groundbreaking figures in contemporary fashion. The exhibition runs through April 4, 2027.

When Karl Lagerfeld designed the first collection for Swedish H&M in 2004, he did something no one had done before. High fashion reached an entirely new audience overnight. The collaboration set off a shift in fashion history and handed the industry a model it has followed ever since. Now, more than twenty years later, Iconic Collaborations brings together pieces from 30 guest designer collaborations at Sven-Harrys Konstmuseum.
Each room stages a heightened version of a fashion world. Key pieces from the collaborations hang side by side, putting each designer’s signature at the center. What defines them? What do they have in common? What makes them so iconic?
“This is an important chapter in contemporary fashion history, and we wanted to create an inspiring, playful experience that encourages visitors to explore. Along the way, they can learn to recognize everything from Viktor & Rolf’s hearts to Comme des Garçons’ polka dots, and discover why Matthew Williamson returns to his signature prints again and again,” said Vanessa Gandy, CEO and Museum Director of Sven-Harrys Konstmuseum.
For many visitors, Iconic Collaborations will bring recognition and nostalgia, especially for those who have followed the collaborations from the start. For others, it will be a first encounter with some of the biggest names in contemporary fashion.
The museum runs a full program of talks, tours, and film screenings for the duration of the exhibition. A comprehensive catalog will be published in conjunction with the exhibition.
Iconic Collaborations is on view at Sven-Harrys Konstmuseum in Stockholm, Sweden, from October 15, 2026, through April 4, 2027.
